Aion – Leveling Fast Via Elite Mobs

Leveling up in Aion to me seemed it was pretty fast, (Currently level 45). However the mindless grinding of the same normal mobs may get to some people. So the folks in the Ranger forums over at AionSource have put together a list of Elite Mob types that be done by 1-2 people for fast experience gains.

This list doesn’t need to be applied to just Rangers, but can be done by anyone who can kite, or find a partner to duo with. Here’s the link to the forum post, and happy hunting!

Aion Online – Making Gold/Kinah in Your Sleep

Whenever I pick up a crafting profession in an mmorpg, I try to find a way to make a few extra gold to fund its progression. I found a cheap way to make gold with Leatherworking, Jewelycrafting in WoW, There’s always a way, and I’ve found mine in Aion Online. Please note that this method takes quite a bit of time so I only recommend this to be used when you have quite a bit of time off (ie before you go to bed/school/work etc). Anyways here’s my first ever Aion Guide on making Aion Kinah/Gold with Tailoring.

Its really the same concept as the Leatherworking tip I posted a few years back for World of Warcraft. Its a common sense know how much you can sell your product for, and know how much it costs to create the product. Also include how much time it takes for you to create it to see if its worthwhile.

I will use Tailoring’s Strong Durable Leather Jerkin as an example. Please note that this is a generic vendor recipe. The materials for this recipe is relatively cheap since no one wants white quality gear at level 38, so take advantage of that fact to net you some quick money. Even the Critical version of this recipe is outdone by its level 33 equivalent making it relatively worthless for players. Or is it? Let’s take a deeper look into it.

To make one you’ll need:

Now go check the Auction house for these items, and see what the prices are. I’ll use my server’s prices to demonstrate my point, also I’ll include the reagent price(vendor) for Greater Leather Hardeners.

Strong Leather Pads – 1k-2k
Strong Leather Cords – N/A
Fine Armor Flux – 1k-2k
Aether Gem – 500-1k
Strong Leather – N/A
Strong Rawhide – 100-500
Greater Leather Hardener – 478

Also note that it takes exactly 38 Strong Leathers(76 Strong Rawhide) to make the pads/cords. If you’re familiar with Aion’s crafting system for Tailors you’ll know that the Strong Leather Pads have a chance to ‘Crit’ into Strong Luxury Leather Pads, and Strong Finest Leather Pads, so you’ll need to make a few extra.

So lets total up the cost of these materials here:

11x Strong Leather Pads – 10156 Kinah (22 Greater Leather Hardeners x 478 Kinah)
16x Strong Leather Cords – 7648 Kinah (16 Greater Leather Hardeners x 478 Kinah)
4x Fine Armor Flux – 8,000 Kinah ( 4 Fine Armor Flux x 2000 Kinah)
28x Aether Gem – 28000 (28 Aether Gem x 1000 Kinah)
76x Strong Rawhide – 38000 (76 Strong Rawhide x 500 Kinah)

This totals up to 91804 Kinah in materials OUCH!. Easy enough right? Now you are probably wondering why you’ve gone a created a rather crappy looking piece of leather that noone on the Trade Broker is even going to buy. Well since you’re at the tradeskill vendor why don’t you just dump the newly made jerkin off there, and find out that that nice npc who sold you all the reagents, is willing to buy this crappy item from you for a whopping 114,000 Kinah. Netting you an extra 22k Kinah profit guaranteed.

Now don’t forget about critical craft chances. One in five of these Jerkins will Crit into a Strong Noble Durable Jerkin and these vendor for a whopping 142k Kinah. That’s a nice 50k profit.

Now the only thing stopping me from mass-producing this is the fact that other people have already caught on to it, and I often find the trade broker on my server devoid of leather/fluxes. It still doesn’t stop me from tailoring 5-10 of these a day. The most time consuming part is making the Strong Rawhide into Strong Leather, which I usually do in bulk before I go to bed as it takes a few hours when you do a large quantity.

That about wraps up this tip for making some easy Kinah, but to be honest, the best way to make alot of Kinah is to just level up. At level 41 as a ranger class I can make roughly 150-250k an hour soloing the elites in Lepharist Citadel in Eltenen, but that’s another story for a later time.

I haven’t quite caught up to 8 Million Kinah like the guy posting the Kinah Guide here, nor have I bought one of these guides yet. Anyone know if its even worth it when making gold in Aion is soo easy?

Aion Online – Cube Expansions

Well I was going to put up a post about how to expand your cube to a full 10 lines worth of space, but Zumbaro at Aion Insider has already posted one. So if you’re in need of more cubespace (aka inventory room). Head on over there to find out how to max it out. Only note worth mentioning is that the NPC Vindachinerk spawns at the Ruins of Roah location in between 1am-6am pretty much all the time. I’ve never seen him at the other locations personally, though this may just be bad luck on my part.

Aion Online – Steel Rake Attunement

Well after many run through of Fire Temple, and the very disappointing drop rates we got through there. Especially after our group had to farm many monsters for the Fire Temple Key, we just decided to stop running the instance, and concentrate on leveling. Once I hit 40 though I stumbled onto another instance attunement quest, this time for the ‘Steel Rake’ instance. I’ll share with you the quest sequence, for Elyos.

This one is easy enough to do, and starts in Heiron with the quest ‘Suspicious Shugo‘, which sends you on a quest to find a Shugo by the name of Roikinerk. This Shugo though wanders around quite a bit, and throughout Heiron so tracking him down is probably the hardest part since he literally travels throughout the whole zone (Basically the Rexxar of Aion).

Once you do find him, Roikinerk gives you a quest called ‘Price of Goodwill‘. He then stuffs your head in a bag, and you wake up aboard the Steel Rake in a prison cell. Getting out is pretty easy, as you just talk to the npc next to you, and grab the port scroll that’s in his bag. The teleport scroll conveniently places you onto the Black Cloud Island in the upper abyss to talk to an npc, who then sends you over to the Sanctum Outer Dock area to finish the quest. Once that’s done, and completed, you’re now able to get onto the Steel Rake.

The Steel Rake instance entrance is the NPC right next to the shugo ship after you complete the quest on the Outer Dock of Sanctum.

Aion Online – Asmodian Level 30 Daeva Armor Quest Walkthrough

It seems like there’s not too much information regarding the Asmodian equivalent of doing the Elyos level 30 Daevonian armor quests out there. So I’m putting up some information regarding it here. This information may not be completely accurate as its taken from different translated sites. If someone’s done the quest in its entirety please confirm the npcs, and process of it all. The Asmodian level 30 Daeva Armor Quest starts off with The Wise in Disguise, which leads into Ceremony of the Wise.

Daevonian Quests
At level 30 I recommend you do this quest as you basically get a piece of the set of blue gear for 97k Kinah.

Note:You need 5 level 30 alts to make the full set which then opens up the quest to make the blue weapon. Its not worth it unless you really like making alts.

Aion – Elyos – Fire Temple Key / Attunement / Instance Boss List

Well I’ve finally gone and hit level 38 now in Aion on my Ranger after much questing/grinding done. Anyways one of the things to do after you hit 30 (besides the level 30 Daeva armor quest) is getting your key/attunement to the Fire Temple Instance. Its a level 30-38 instance that has boss mobs which drop Orange quality gear (rare chance though). It seemed like some of the guys in our guild were also asking where to go to get the quest so I figured I’d post a quick guide to get your Fire Temple Key.

The attunement quest for Elyos players is fairly simple, all you need is an item drop called Fire Temple Key. Sound simple enough? Well it is, unless you are really unlucky with item drops. Basically you head down to Kyola Temple in Eltenen (Around Here on Map), and start grinding on certain mobs. At night the Raging Obscura drop the Fire Temple Key, and during the day time you can head into the Kyola Temple to kill Shadow Obscura, and Chaotic Temptress, all of which drop the key. Please note that these mobs are 33-35, and do link so I would recommend a partner if you have trouble killing them by yourself. (note:you need to be level 30 to accept the quest, but you can be below level 30 to get the key)

Basically after much farming (if you’re unlucky), and you finally get a hold of one of these keys. Right click the key in your inventory to start The Fire Temple Key quest. Which sounds soo very generic, and non-epic sounding, which is exactly what the quest is. You walk a whole 100 meters to the npc standing right outside of Kyola Temple, and turn it in. Pretty simple, and now you are ready for the level 30-38 grind fest in the temple to hopefully get one of those orange drops off of Kromede. I wouldn’t get too excited though, the game isn’t like WoW in which it always drops loot. Most times you’ll drop just Kinah, or sometimes nothing at all.

The main boss of the instance is called Kromede, and she has two forms that she can appear in. The normal one is Kromede the Corrupt, and the second rarer variant is The Vile Judge Kromede. (the later seems to have a slightly higher drop rate on orange quality gear).

Other than the main boss, the instance has up to 6 other bosses at a random spawn rate.

There are:

Silver-Bladed Rotan (purple path is always up)

Tough Sipus (Right Teal dot) (Drops Sipus’s Shield)

Broken Wing (Left Teal dot)

Flame Branch Levi (Left Yellow Dot)

Name ghost miniboss (Right Yellow Dot)

Lava Gatneri (Right Red Dot)

Malgolem (Left Red Dot)

The Green Dot on the Bottom of the map is the quest NPC for Hannet’s Quest ([Spy] Finding Denlavis). Which will eventually give you a Blue level 32 weapon via the quest (Hannet’s Vengeance). Its worth doing this quest as early as possible as even at level 38 my ranger still uses Hannet’s Longbow, which is one of the quest rewards you can get from it.

Aion Online – Elyos Level 30 Daeva Armor Quest Walkthrough

Level 30 is a pretty big deal in Aion, especially if you picked up the collector’s edition Aion package. However its also one of the first levels that gives you access to your first piece of quested blue gear with little to no effort. However to get the full set of this you’ll have to put in quite a bit of game time, however the set bonuses are pretty wicked. The particular quest I’m talking about is the Daeva Armor quest, the first of which starts at level 30 in Aion. Its pretty simple, but here’s a quick walkthrough on how to get your Daeva armor.

This is for the Elyos version, I made an Asmodian Level 30 Daeva Armor quest walkthrough since there wasn’t too much info regarding it posted anywhere.

Daevonian Quests

Once this is done a new quest appears, but this one can only be done if you hold 5 pieces of Daeva armor. (ie: done the quest on 5 different characters on one account).

Update For World of Warcraft Tip For Leatherworkers

I just wanted to update my free tips for the poor WoW leatherworker post. Seems like there are many people wanting to know more about a particular product called Heavy Knothide Armor Kit that was released with the recent WoW patch 2.3.

Heavy Knothide Armor Kit

What is it?
Permanently increase the Stamina of an item worn on the head, chest, shoulders, legs, hands or feet by 10. Only usable on items level 60 and above.

Where can Leatherworkers learn it?
In Lower City Shattrah, from the Master Leatherworking Trainer Damari at location 67, 67(The southeast part of the city map near the exit into Terrokar Forest.

Who makes it?
Leatherworkers with 350 or greater skill.

What does it take to make one?
It takes three Heavy Knothide Leathers.

How many skills ups can I get from it?
Heavy Knothide Armor kits are Yellow from 350-354, Green 355-364, and go Grey at 365.

Can I make gold selling it?
Definitely, I make more gold selling these than selling the Heavy Knothide Leather on the auction house by themselves.

World of Warcraft Gold Tip for The Poor Leatherworker

So you wanna be a leatherworker in World of Warcraft? This isn’t the guide for you then, the leatherworker power-leveling guide is located here along with all the other professions. This quick tip is for those poor leatherworkers who finally got the nice shiny Epic leather gear. Now the only problem is once you made your gear what else can I do with the skill? I know, I can sell various armor kits to make money like that expensive Nethercobra Leg Armor! I’m sorry to say it’ll be a slow going process for you unless your running heroics day in and out for those Primal Nethers.

Well this quick tip won’t make you rich fast, but it can put an extra 50-100g a day for a few minutes work.

Here is what you’ll need:
Minimum LW Skill: 325 (yep fund your 300-375 training with this)
About 100g to start off if you have no materials.
Skinning – Not required, but useful
Auctioneer – Not required, but makes things go a lot faster. Check my post on Auctioneer Guide.

First thing first – check for your competition

Go to the Auction House, and search for Knothide Armor Kit and Heavy Knothide Leather. As of Patch 2.3 there is also a Heavy Knothide Armor Kit(LW Skill 350) available as well. Write down the prices of those items, and also check which increments are selling. Are there stacks of 20? Or are there stacks of 1s and 2s. Figure out the unit price of Knothide Armor Kit, and Heavy Knothide leather. (ie: if a stack of heavy knothide leather is 40g each piece is 2g. [40g / 20pc = 2g])

Step two: Next based on this unit price figure out how much you need to buy your materials for to make a profit. For the purpose of this tip we will use Heavy Knothide Leather at 3 gold sell price, and Knothide Armor Kit at 2 gold 50 silver sell price.

Heavy Knothide Leather
Materials: 5 Knothide Leather OR 25 Knothide Leather Scraps

Unit price of Materials for Heavy Knothide Leather:
Knothide Leather: 60 Silver [3g / 5pc] or 12 gold per stack
or
Knothide Leather Scraps: 1 silver 20 copper [3g / 25pc] or 2 gold 40 silver per stack

Knothide Armor Kit
Materials: 4 Knothide Leather OR 20 Knothide Leather Scraps

Unit price of Materials for Knothide Leather Armor:
Knothide Leather: 63 Silver [2.5g / 4pc]or 12.6 gold per stack
or
Knothide Leather Scraps: 1 silver 25 copper [2.5g / 20pc]or 2 gold 50 silver per stack

These listed prices are your unit costs. You want to get your cost down to around 1/2 to 3/4 this to make a worthwhile profit. So your target prices are 30 silver [6 gold per stack] for Knothide Leather, and 60 copper [1gold 20 silver] per Knothide Leather Scrap

Step Three: Check the Auction house for materials at this amount.
Due to each server having its own economy, you will have to adjust according based on the above formulas.

If there are materials (knothide leather or knothide leather scraps) with a buyout with the target prices listed above. Buy those materials outright. On my server Leather Scraps can be found for less than 1g a stack(knothide leather for around 7g), and I can sell it for 3g making me 2 gold per piece. If material costs are high, but there is no finished products (Heavy Knothide Leather/Knothide Armor Kits) you might be able to start making a little extra money. Just figure the cost of the finished product, and sell for a profit.

Step Four: Put your goods on the Auction House

Now that you bought your materials start making those armor kits, and heavy leathers. Then put them up on the auction house in increments of 1 or 2. I would maybe start with 5 stacks of 2 heavy knothide leather to feel where the demand is. Then check back the next day to see if it all sold or not. Adjust this accordingly so that you don’t lose your deposit if an item doesn’t sell. Do the same for your knothide armor kits. Put them up in increments of 1 or 2. I usually sell out if I place 10 auctions of 1 pc, but it never sells when I put up 1 stack of 10. Remember this!

Step Five: Restock your materials

Now you’ve started to sell some goods, but don’t stop buying materials. Your next goal is to buy out all the materials at below your unit price. Also place bids on the other items if the bid price is lower than your unit price. This does two things for you:

1. You have a ready supply of product to sell if the market suddenly dries out.
2. By buying out everything cheaper than your material unit price you are setting the price in the market for your goods. If someone tries to undercut you they will have to do so at a loss or at the expense of time farming their own goods. Neither is something most people will do for an extended period of time.

Notes:

I say look for scraps for one main reason. Skinners who never took leatherworking.
They cannot convert their scraps into regular leather, so they end up with bags filled of scraps to list on the auction house. Use this to your advantage. Buy the scraps, and convert it into these two goods, and rake in the money.

Why do these two items make more money than selling an expensive armor kit like Nethercobra leg armor?

Answer #1: Volume – You can sell 20-30 pieces of heavy knothide leather in the auction house overnight, but will probably only sell 1 Nethercobra Amor kit a day IF you have the nether for it.

Answer #2: Quest – People wanting to complete the quest chain Quenching the Blade need 4 heavy knothide leather.

Answer #3: Other Trade Skills – Both Tailoring and Engineering require Knothide Leather, and Heavy Knothide Leather for some of their goods. However since they only use 2-4 pieces at a time the big stacks aren’t very profitable for them. If your the nice leatherworker that puts up stacks of 1s and 2s of Heavy Knothide Leather these people will love you.

Auctioneer Guide for World of Warcraft

My regular job has been having me work alot lately so I haven’t been pushing any products lately. However, while I’ve been looking around the web for something to write about, I came across a good Auctioneer Guide site. Free of ads, and pretty much sums up everything I would have written about the mod. I use this mod daily, and without it I probably would not be here blogging about making ridiculous amounts of gold in World of Warcraft.

A couple things I would add about Auctioneer is that it is a memory hog. If your computer is lagging already in the big towns like Orgrimmar I would either a) not install it or b) use it in a less populated auction house accessible city like Thunder Bluff/Darnassus. The mod stores useful data, and after a while the database gets fairly large causing it will slow your computer down eventually.

The second thing about the article is its download link. Like all programs to download from the internet, I would advise anyone to download the program from the original download site at AuctioneerAddOn.com. I don’t have anything against the link that was posted, but sometimes people add in their own malicious code when you download something from a 3rd party site. It also has a nice little donation page too if you are feeling generous, and like the work they do.
