Machinima Making The News

I’m a big fan of machinima, and commercials for video games. I’ve blogged about quite a few of them here. My favorite of them all being Monty Oum and his machinima creations. Check out some of these videos after the jump, as well as the Associated Press video about Machinima. Please be patient as some of these might take a sec to load due to their size/source.

And finally Monty Oum’s “Dead Fantasy 2″ machinima. This one is definitely a must see. The guy uses characters from Final Fantasy, and Dead or Alive making them go all out against each other in an 11 minute brawl. I swear they need to make a video game like this.

Dead Fantasy is an excellent piece of work, but for some reason I couldn’t get the gametrailer version to work correctly. The above video can be found in better quality here, and he even made one with no sound effects here if you don’t like the grunts etc from the girls.

Squidoo Error Says I Made $600!

So I log into my Squidoo account today, and I see this big blue message across the screen saying Congratulations, your one of the top earners for 2007 with over $600. I kid you not, I thought I had some sort of windfall traffic that came to me or something. Except the next line stated my earnings very clearly, which was around $3.18. So what’s going on with Squidoo today?

I took a screen of the error message here: I really don’t think $3.18 qualifies as one of the top earners, so maybe its just a blanket message that was broadcast by accident? Does anyone else have some Squidoo pages that can login to check if you have received the same error message? Man if only I actually received $600 from it, that would have made my day.

By the way if you do have a Squidoo page, link it over to me I’ll be happy to stumble the page for you to bring in some extra visitors. I just recently created my third page which is just a Squidoo Video fan page for Monty Oum.

If you are not familiar with Monty Oum, he’s the machinima artist who created Haloid, Icarus, and Dead Fantasy. The most amazing thing about his videos is that they are created by him alone without a team, or director. Here is one of his videos called Haloid which was released a while back. The two characters are Samus from Metroid, and Master Chief from Halo, hence the merged title ‘Haloid’

Well those are my favorite five. While there are some great machinima out there like the The Tale of the past series these are my personal favorites. Let me know what your favorite Wow videos are, I’d like to see them too.
