This one was a prize from Ellissa Bar for entering in her contest that I mentioned last week.She was also kind enough to send me a Warhammer Poster too =).  Also to my suprise, this poster is double sided.  How I’m suppose to hand thing up is a little confusing if I want to show off both sides.  Unless I hang it from the lamp in the middle of my room like Warhammer Heraldry.

I’m sure not complaining though this stuff definitely rocks.  The mug is even a handmade piece of pottery from a Warhammer Launch party.  Mucho Gracias Ellisa!

So here’s the story, about how I managed to snag one of these things for free.  Every year in Maui we have a county fair.  And usually my friends and I go there to eat the food since its usually pretty good, and only available during fair season.

As usual, we walk around the fairgrounds to go visit the various tents, and shops that people have set up there.  You know the 500LB giant pumpkins, the blue ribbon cows, Aunty’s prize winning orchids etc.  We end up walking by this stall over at Time Warner, and they got some kind of game set up.  My friend, and I figure what the heck, let’s go try it out.

Turns out its a photo memory game that was recently setup for Time Warner Oceanic Cable via ActiveVideo Networks/Tag Networks that they were promoting at the stall.  The object of the game was to look at a photo memorize it, and then answer a question regarding the photo via the tv remote.  Sometimes it was easy as, “Was the person in the photo female?”  Other times it was as obscure as, “Was the surfer’s right foot forward?”.  The first couple of us who tried it out was having some fun with it, so I’m sure that this new feature will be great for families to spend time together.

The game so my friend had scored alright for just fooling around.  Up comes my turn, and I scored a perfect for the first 10 rounds, and got all the bonus rounds correct.  When the total score came up I had scored top 3 for the State of Hawaii supposedly, and the guy there was like “Wow, there’s a good chance I’ll probably be calling you up with that score”.  I was like yea whatever, I never win anything in contests, and off we went on our merry way to go stuff ourselves with some fair food.

The rest is history.  I get a call to come pick up the TV from the same guy at the stall, and here I am blogging about it.  Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go pick up a set of HDMI cables so I can use this 40″ screen on my computer to play Warhammer Online with. =)

From the looks of the entries though most people didn’t come back to comment about dropping their cards for more daily entries. I would have expected more of those participants than the ones who subscribed to the rss or e-mail. It also seems like I still get around 50-60 card drops daily from Entrecard users. When I was receiving closer to 300 visitors a day earlier this month posting about the Van Dame commercial, the rating didn’t even show up in the top 100k. I guess the people who play World of Warcraft don’t use the Alexa bar that much, and many of the Entrecard users do.Also there’s been some worry over at the Digital Point forums regarding Google de-indexing many sites. One thread I read had their site traffic drop from 50k – 20kday. Many of these same threads popped up back in September about a month before big G updated its Page Rankings. Is this the start of Google getting ready to do the PR updates again? I wonder how many PR complaints we’ll see this time around. Like I’ve mentioned before I don’t like to pay too much attention on getting PR. Especially when the Whypark test site received a higher PR than my blog did. Page rank has no relation to traffic. Although now when I move this blog to the domain name I’ll get a higher PR rating thanks to Whypark. So that’s a good thing right?

Its been a hectic day today at the office so far, so I’ll be jumbling everything today in one big post.

It looks like there is an Entrecard meme going about now. I had first heard about it while returning a dropped card from Buzz Bop. I left a comment there joking about how long it was going to take before I get hit with it. Low and behold a few hours later I get tagged by that very meme from Alan. I found it funny that Colin also had that same experience happen to him the day before it looks like.
