Moving On – New Career in Real Estate
I usually do not put much information about my personal life onto this blog, but in this day and age it seems like it hurts your business more than help to keep certain things out of it. The last time I posted something similar about a job change was almost 4 years ago when I started a Project Manager position. This time I will be tackling the career of a Realtor here in Maui, Hawaii specializing in buying/selling a home in South Maui.
Why the big switch from website project management to real estate you ask? Well in my opinion it really doesn’t much change what I do. In both lines of work you have to make sure things that need to be completed are done within a certain time frame. You also have to assess what is within scope or the budget of your client, and protect their best interests. You always want to bring up any problems early, and find solutions to those problems in a timely manner.
The other advantage that I have over many real estate agents joining the field is that I live here in Maui, Hawaii. We are an island in the middle of the Pacific ocean. The only way to contact potential buyers/sellers efficiently is through the use of the internet. I feel that this will put me at a very strong advantage in the market.
On a side note, this is a picture of a beach in Makena, Hawaii minutes away from my home. There is always going to be someone in the world who wants to live right there where I took this picture. All I need to do is to show the world that this view is for sale (btw this view is for sale). When there is a good product, and it can be found at a good price, there will always be a buyer for it.
So to all of my readers I humbly ask for some support of my new career. If you are a Realtor yourself or in marketing, feel free to give me some tips and advice. If you know of someone looking to buy/sell a property in Maui(especially South Maui), please send them my way or point them to my websites. My real estate site is South Maui Homes (http://southmauihomes.kwrealty.com/).
I also ask to please like my Facebook page @ www.facebook.com/SouthMauiHomes to help me get started as well. Well wish me the best of luck guys, and yes I will still continue to post (albeit sporadically) here on this page as well.
