Dota 6.60 Map is Out! Finally GetDota is Flooded.

Well Icefrog finally did it.  The long awaited 6.60 Defense of the Ancients (DotA) map for Warcraft 3 has finally been released.  As usual the GetDota site has been flooded for a while now for people itching to get the map.  For those of you who don’t know what DotA is, here’s the wiki, and the current DotA Forums as well as the one Icefrog was previously affiliated with for reasons unknown.

I’m not sure why, but after my friends and I get burnt out from MMORPGs we end up playing DotA.  I mean its got a pretty big following, with its own song, and I’m pretty sure that the map is the only reason why Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne is still one of the top selling games year after year.

This batch includes two new heroes, and quite a bit of new items.  All the changes can be found in the changelog here at GetDota.com.  I’m off to play a few games with my friends before bed so I’ll see you all later.

Oh and if any of you still need the map still I’ve put up the file DotA Allstars v6.60.w3x here.  Though I have a feeling that by the time I finish making this post, Icefrog will probably release version 6.60a or 6.61 shortly afterwards.

    Hey Zawadi,

    Haven’t been up to much really, just been playing Heroes of Newerth alot, but since they have an NDA on it couldn’t really post anything about it. (is what I’d like to say, but I’ve been slacking on my blog).

    I never liked World of Warcraft enough to play myself, I’ve seen my mates playing but was not blown away by the game. But I’ve seen some nice maps there, the graphic side of the whole thing is great and it is visible that many people still work to make the game more and more interesting. That is inspiring.

    i used to play warcraft 3, dota as well, but for some reason it slipped off my radar.. that reminds me, will contact some friends to try and arrange a dota lan party… woohoo..

    I play Warcraft a lot and in fact I don’t know why people are so crazy about Dota. I played it a few times and I dont’ like it, I prefer some other mods.
