Night of Failure – I Hate Karjak – Ahzranok Down Atleast

Totally, utterly, and definitely a fail of epic proportions in Warhammer Online tonight. Why so fail you might ask? Well I’ll tell you, but grab some popcorn, because its a long story.
Anyways our group of guildies tonight decided to run skip out on RvR, and go run through some instances tonight for gear. Our party consists of a pretty balanced group which is: Ironbreaker, Swordmaster, White Lion, Bright Wizard, Archmage, and me the Runepriest. So we start the night off in Sigmar’s Crypts, and all is going pretty well. We’ve noticed that we were taking quite a bit less damage since our last time before we killed Warlock Peenk in the Warpblade tunnels. We were thinking that maybe we’ll actually be able to finish this dungeon tonight. Low and behold we were finally able to get through the buggy bat boss on the second try tonight. We’re stoked, and go after the next few bosses, and pretty much kill them on the first or second try each. Now all we have to do is talk to this boss mob after we ‘kill’ her to collect our loot, and have her open the gate for the last boss.
Now this is where the failure starts for this long night. On the tomb robber side, after we kill Seraphine ‘Pale Eye’, the other tome robbers go neutral. We usually just kill the boss, don’t bother with the rest of the tomb robbers, and go on our merry way collecting our loots. However our bright wizard, by the name of Karjak, hits a wrong button and aoes the whole lot of them.
Now if these thing just reset on wipe it wouldn’t have been a problem. The problem is that Seraphine is a scripted encounter, and she opens the gates for the next section. She also happens to become our invincible ally, so the tome robbers start hitting on this invincible scripted encounter hero. We also can’t progress to the next section until we’re out of combat, AND we can’t battle rez because she’s a boss mob. So what happens? These pack of normally single pull mob of tome robbers aoe our party to smitherines. Not only that we somehow manage to train them to the entrance of the Sigmar’s crypt entrance. Where upon zoning in they insta-gib even our tanks. We had to reset the instance, and re-kill these bosses all over again so that we could get some progression.
Normally that would have been a story enough to laugh about. Well no, there’s more. We eventually rekill all the bosses, and head on over to the duo end boss of Sigmar’s crypts. The encounter is kind of similar to Twin Emps in World of Warcraft in which you have to kill both of them at the same time. This part is pretty uneventful, and even for attempting the boss on the first try we kill them. The only thing that happened was our bright wizard saying how easy this encounter was, as he gets one shot by one of the bosses, thus requiring me to blow a rank 4 morale to rez him mid fight.
So we cleared all of Sigmars Crypts, and then to punish ourselves some more we go in and kill Grey Seer Quoltik over in Warpblade Tunnels to salvage more epic engineer/witch hunter gear, and decide to call it a really long night by heading into the Lost Vale.
Now in the Lost Vale there’s a 4 pull that is sleeping, and well instead of killing them our brilliant bright wizard decides to try and walk passed them all. I guess the 900+ intelligence he has doesn’t carry over or something. Needless to say as soon as he walked near them they woke up, and promptly created a new bright wizard welcome map. We wiped on the 4 pull, and find out that since they are sleeping the 4 pack is actually 4 single mobs that can be pulled at the same time. /facepalm
Okay, so as we get to this first boss in Lost Vale called Ahzranok (who names these guys anyways?). We try out different things to kill him, and we just unlucky string of crits on our tank etc etc. We basically wipe on him for like 2 straight hours, but afterwards we finally managed to kill him. Except, our bright wizard friend gets a crash to desktop error right as he lands the killing blow. Here’s our kill shot screen cap minus the CTD bright wizard.
Well you know we’re excited and all that, and we’re nice enough to wait for him to get back into the zone so we can all get our loots. Right when someone says, wouldn’t it be funny if this thing disappears before he gets back. As we kind of giggle at that the mob despawns right before our very eyes. No corpse means no loot for us, two hours of wiping so that all we get out of this encounter was this lousy screen shot.
I hate our bright wizard.
