World of Warcraft Addiction Gone Too Far?

Now I get addicted to games pretty easily.  My most recent one as you probably have assumed is Warhammer Online.  Although at one point I was pretty addicted to World of Warcraft, but not quite as much as this guy.

Yes, you saw it correctly.  This guy has 36 World of Warcraft accounts, and pays $5711 a year in subscriptions.  If that isn’t crazy enough as it is.  This guy can play the accounts simultaneously using this setup:

Can you guys imagine playing against this guy in Alterac Valley with a main assist macro, and getting your face melted by 36 simultaneous frost shocks?  According to the post, he wants to raid some 10, and 20 man instances for gear as well as some battle grounds.

He even remembered to chain refer a friend himself so that he can powerlevel some other classes like druids/mages and priests so that he has different classes for raids/instances.  When Wrath of the Lich King comes out next month, he plans on picking up the game for all 36 accounts.  Which will cost him about $1500 plus tax.

If that isn’t a crazy addiction, I don’t know what else to tell you.  I prefer to be addicted cute World of Warcraft Cosplay like the ones from the recent Blizzcon 08.  Especially this elf girl:

Seriously, that much money on WoW subscriptions? This is the guy spending 90 bucks on a WoW mouse. Where is he even getting all this money? And how hasn’t he gotten bored yet?

WTF?! He must have a truck of cash coming in every freakin friday if he can afford that. I bet he doesn’t work. How could he when he is managing 36 account.

On the other side, I respect the way he chose. It is freaky but it is definitely not an easy one.

months late on this comment but Rogue Macros you must really suck at math if you think 36 accounts at $15 a month is $1500. they even said that $1500 was the amount he would be for the EXPANSION which is about $40-60. and for the people who say “no life” he does have a life, it just happens to be centered around his fun and not just working 24/7 which apparently is the only thing that accounts for a life now

he actually owns only 5 accounts

@Bid – no he doesn’t he is logged in on all of the accounts in the first picture. You can’t login on 2 chars at the same time on the same account.

Not only is spend a ton of money on his subscriptions per month, imagine the amount of money he’s spending for bandwidth so he can keep an even FPS for all 36 account simontaneously. You know… because 36 seperate environments all utilizing a connection to the server… Hope he has Cable lol.

    Insane….

Crazy, but I’ve read worse, like some people neglecting their kids or committing suicide because of WOW. I believe that all games have an addicting quality – they’re just designed that way – but if you want to start playing a game, you should also be responsible enough to know when to stop.
