My last post about Warhammer Tome Tactic unlocks may have been a little confusing for some people. So I have decided to put together a sorted list of all 27 unlockable Tome Tactics in one post so that people don’t have to go searching around for what they need. I hope this guide helps all you Warhammer Online players out there.

Harrier – (Bestial) – Beast types
Favour – (Chaotic) – Beastmen types like Gor

What are Tome Tactics?

Tome tactics are the blue tactics that players can put into their slots in addition to their Career, and Reknown tactics. These Tome Tactics are for PVE only, and does not have any benefit for PVP (RvR). However the Boon – (Manly) and Outmaneuver (Greenskin) Tactics may benefit players who want additional help killing the NPCS around RvR Objectives. (unconfirmed) These Tome Tactics gives bonuses such as added damage, decreased aggro range, or reduce damage taken from those type of monsters.

Where can I get Tome Tactics?

Tome Tactics are available for purchase from the librarians in the capital cities. Altdorf for Order, and The Inevitable City for Destruction.

How do I unlock Tome Tactics?

To unlock a tome tactic you will have to have multiple tome of knowledge unlocks of a particular type. For example: Greenskin Tome Tactics will require you to get multiple Greenskin tactic unlocks. Also there are three levels of each type of Tome Tactics. There is no order in which you need to unlock these, as long as you unlock a certain amount in your tome of knowledge. (For example Boon of the Impalpable – (Manly Scheme) is unlocked after performing any two items in the list, to unlock Boon of Tenacity – (Manly Strategy) you will need to unlock four items in the list)

Note: Some of these will be for either Order (O) or Destruction (D) only, and will be noted with (O) or (D)

Harrier – Bestial Tome Tactics

Harrier’s Savagery – (Bestial Scent) - You can approach 50% closer to an enemy Animal monster before it will attack you.
Harrier’s Pelt – (Bestial Stamina) - You can approach 50% closer to an enemy Animal monster before it will attack you, and you take 5% less damage from them.
harrier’s Ken – (Bestial Hunt) - You can approach 50% closer to an enemy Animal monster before it will attack you, and you take 5% less damage from them. You will gain 50% more experience from these enemies.

Unlocking Harrier – (Bestial) Tome Tactics – Every 10 unlocks a Tactic

Kill Rauklus – Level 24 – Located in NW Badlands right below the PQ Fireforge’s Camp.
Kill Jowler – Level 16 – Located in Barrak Varr 21k, 51k under a bridge
Kill Famished Squig – Lvl 25 Champion – Located in Black Fire Pass 38k,60k
(D) Kill Stinky – Basilisk – Level 36 – Located in Black Crag 4k, 9k
Kill Pit Bat – Level 30 – Located in Black Crag
(O) Kill 60 Warpwood Spiders – Level 10 – Afterwards talk to Elthossar Youngstar located in Chrace Chap 4

(D) Talk to a guard in Praag near Chapter 19 to receive a bag – Kill Ungol Stallions – Level 37 – for Fresh Meat, then return to the guard.
(O) Kill Grinya – Level 38 – Located in Reikland 2k, 18k
(D) Kill Bloodmane – Level 38 – Located in Reikland 59k, 19k

(D) Kill 6 young basilisks N of the Ch16 quest hub in Black Crag. Afterwards talk to the goblin Gubs. He is hiding by the fence in the N part of the hub.
(O) Pick-up Duregar’s pack in Black Crag 40k, 38k. Return the bag to Duregar Bronzemug at the Dwarf CH21 camp.
(D) Kill 60 Dog Waylayers / Dog Firecallers – Located in Mt. Bloodhorn – Afterwards talk to Da War Maker
Kill 1000 Cold Ones
Kill 10,000 Squigs
Kill 60 Deathflame Ghouls – Level 36 – Located in Cinderfall 54k, 43k
- (O) Afterwards talk to Order Kill Collector in Chapter 18

Kill Snowperch Matriarch – Level 36 Hero – Located in Praag 58k, 50k – Have to kill Snowperch Fledglings to spawn.

Favour – (Chaotic) Tome Tactics

Favour the Daemonic – (Chaotic Form) – Increases your chances to defend against attacks made by enemy Beastmen monsters by 5%.
Favour the Gods – (Chaotic Corruption) - Increases your chances to defend against attacks made by enemy Beastmen monsters by 5%, and you take 5% less damage from them.
Favour the Mad – (Chaotic Order) – Increases your chances to defend against attacks made by enemy Beastmen monsters by 5%, and you take 5% less damage from them. As long as you are attacking a monster of this type, your abilities will cool down 2 seconds faster.

Right Click on Grisly Necklace once it is in your inventory.
- (O) Kill Blackhorn Bestigors until you receive the item – Located in Talabecland 48k, 39k
- (D) Talk to the Blackhorn Beasticor at 48k, 39k to receive the item – Located in Talabecland 48k, 39k
Kill Blackhorn Ungors – Level 27 – Until you get an Ungor Talisman. Sell the Talisman to a merchant.
Kill Riptusk – Level 33 Champion – Located in Eataine 14k, 10k
Talk to either Sister Raffaela (O) or Mathis Rittenhouse (D) – Located in Norsca
Kill a Bloodtalon Harpy – Level 7 – Located in Chrace
(O) Kill 50-60 Gashthorn Gor or Blackhorn Gor in Ostland – Level 17 – Afterwards talk to Droki Greybeard

Aethyric – Daemonic Tome Tactics

Aethyric Pandemonium – (Daemonic Wrath) - You deal 5% more damage to all enemy Daemon monsters.
Aethyric Ward – (Daemonic Fortitude) - You deal 5% more damage to all enemy Daemon monsters, and take 5% less damage from them.
Aethyric Insight – (Daemonic Spirit) - You deal 5% more damage to all enemy Daemon monsters, and take 5% less damage from them. As long as you are attacking an enemy of this type, you lisgain Morale 25% faster.

Sky Titan – (Giant) Tome Tactics

Sky Titan’s Bulwark – (Giant Girth) - Increases your chances to defend against attacks made by enemy Ogre, Troll, and Giant monsters by 5%.
Sky Titan’s Favor – (Giant Strength) - Increases your chances to defend against attacks made by enemy Ogre, Troll, and Giant monsters by 5%, and increases your chance to critically hit them by 0%.
Sky Titan’s Strength – (Giant Rage) - Increases your chances to defend against attacks made by enemy Ogre, Troll, and Giant monsters by 5%, and increases your chance to critically hit them by 0%. As long as you are attacking an enemy of this type, you gain Morale 25% faster.

Unlocking Sky Titan – (Giant) Tome Tactics – Every 5 unlocks 1 tactic

Kill Cold Snap – Level 20+ Champion – Get the killing blow – Located in Troll Country 9k, 5k
Kill Marl the Maneater – Level 23 Champion – Located in west High Pass 8k, 42k
Kill Brackmaw – Located in Troll Country near 56k. 44k (Have to get barrel of perfume from nearby goblin camp first before killing him)
Kill Stonegullet Trolls for Troll Flesh- Lvl 30+ – Located in Black Crag – West side
Find Drul’s Lunch in the Despair Pits (Black Crag West side) in the Stonegullet Troll area – Then kill Skittering Spiders for Poison Glands. Afterwards return to Drul’s Lunch to finish the quest for the unlock.
Run near the Brokenmaw Tracker/Impaler camp – Located in Highpass 4.5k, 35k
Kill Rockmaw – Level 31 Champion – Black Crag North area by Despair Pit
Kill Ufgor – Level 40 Champion – Black Crag 37k, 54k
In Troll Country – Walk to 57k, 35.5k

Outmaneuver the Dim – (Fungal Fetish) - You can approach 50% closer to an enemy Greenskin monster before it will attack you.
Outmaneuver the Cunning – (Fungal Feast) - You can approach 50% closer to an enemy Greenskin monster before it will attack you, and any abilities used against them will cost 10% less action points.
Outmaneuver the Clever – (Fungal Fervor) - You can approach 50% closer to an enemy Greenskin monster before it will attack you, and any abilities used against them will cost 10% less action points. As long as you are attacking an enemy of this type, you gain Morale 25% faster.

Unlocking Outmaneuver – (Fungal) Tome Tactics – Every 2 unlocks 1 tactic

Kill Honcho Bogwash – Lvl 20 – Located in the SW part of Marsh of Madness
Kill Boglars until you get 5 Boglar Ears – Level 16 – Located in Marsh of Madness NE of the Order PQ Dam Boglars
Kill Kezzen in Mt Gunbad – Level 20 – Badlands located inside the isntance, roams in a wide page across the left hand bridge.
Kill Hoarding Burrower – Level 41- Located in Black Crag 63k, 56k until you loot Relic Sword of Veranna. Right click the item.
Kill 1000 Savage Orcs

Boon – (Manly) Tome Tactics

Boon of the Impalpable – (Manly Scheme) - You can approach 50% closer to an enemy Dwarf, Elf, or Human monster before it will attack you.
Boon of Tenacity – (Manly Strategy) - You can approach 50% closer to an enemy Dwarf, Elf, or Human monster before it will attack you, and any abilities used against them will cost 10% less action points.
Boon of Persistance – (Manly Meddling) - Currently Bugged – You can approach 50% closer to an enemy Dwarf, Elf, or Human monster before it will attack you, and any abilities used against them will cost 10% less action points. You will gain 50% more experience from these enemies. (Currently gives -50% exp per kill)

Unlocking Boon – (Manly) Tome Tactics – Every 2 unlocks 1 tactic

Kill Lodwig Falkenheim – Level 17 – In Ostland 56, 24k
(O) Talk to captains Flintbeard and Erginsson on the Sea Anvil in Barak Varr. May have to also interact with the first mate on the ship as well.
(D) Kill Sea Anvil Slayers – Level 12 – in Barrack Varr 11k, 49k until you have 20x Slayer Scalps – Afterwards turn the scalps in to Reezel in Barrack Varr 33k, 60k
Interact with Stonesmith Supplies on the broken bridge in Kadrin Valley 29,40k. Surrounded by Level 40 Order Dwarfs.
Kill Drakk Cultist – Level 35 – Located in Thunder Mountain 17k, 5k
Kill 1000 Living Armors – Level 36 – Located in Isle of the Dead – Destro PQ Area (Ritual of Metal)
Kill 1000 Night Goblins

Apotheosis – (Mythical) Tome Tactics

Apotheosis of Flesh – (Mythical Marking) - You deal 5% more damage to all enemy Magical Beast, Dragonoid, and Forest Spirit monsters.
Apotheosis of Spirit – (Mythical Dance) – You deal 5% more damage to all enemy Magical Beast, Dragonoid, and Forest Spirit monsters, and any abilities used against them will cost 10% less action points.
Apotheosis of Mind – (Mythical Idol) – You deal 5% more damage to all enemy Magical Beast, Dragonoid, and Forest Spirit monsters, and any abilities used against them will cost 10% less action points. As long as you are attacking a monster of this type, your abilities will cool down 2 seconds faster.

Cunning – (Queek) Tome Tactics

Cunning Evasion – (Queek Reek) - Increases your chances to defend against attacks made by enemy Skaven monsters by 5%.
Cunning Assault – (Queek Strike) - Increases your chances to defend against attacks made by enemy Skaven monsters by 5%, and increases your chance to critically hit them by 0%.
Cunning Strategem – (Queek Know How) - Increases your chances to defend against attacks made by enemy Skaven monsters by 5%, and increases your chance to critically hit them by 0%. You will gain 0% more experience from these enemies.

Unlocking Cunning – (Queek) Tome Tactics – Every 1 unlocks 1 tactic

Climb to the top of the Horned Tower in Talabecland 30k,16k, and touch the banner.
Kill Master Moulder Vitchek – Level 19 Hero – Located in Altdorf, 24k, 25k. Kill the regular level 15 Skavens first then he will spawn.
Kill 1000 Rat Ogres

Benediction – (Undead) Tome Tactics

Benediction of Morr – (Undead Chill) - You deal 5% more damage to all enemy Undead monsters.
Benediction of Winters – (Undead Will) – You deal 5% more damage to all enemy Undead monsters, and take 5% less damage from them.
Benediction of the Dead – (Undead Longevity) - You deal 5% more damage to all enemy Undead monsters, and take 5% less damage from them. As long as you are attacking a monster of this type, your abilities will cool down 2 seconds faster.

Unlocking Benediction – (Undead) Tome Tactics – Every 4 unlocks 1 tactic

Kill Halman Meusmann – Located in Ostland 50k. 18k
Right click on a Faded Scroll – Dropped from skeleton mobs in Ostland either Boneshard Minion or Skeletal Gebauer
Kill the Spolfinkr Family – Annabelle, Croetch, Papa, and Tomas – Level 33 – Located in Chaos Wastes 15k, 58k
Kill Vilesoul – Level 38 Champion – Located in Chaos Wastes 40k, 57k
Kill Wulgrig – Level 36 – Located in Cinderfall 43k, 3k. – Part of Order Quest line and have to interact with a pile of rocks

No problem =) If you have updated information please let me know, and I’ll update this list as best I can. I’ll be trying to confirm the items on this list myself if possible.

I was able to get myself the Fungal Fetish, and Manly Scheme tactics fairly easily, and most people should be able to get the first tier tactics solo around level 20.

For the Fungal, and Manly tactics you only need to unlock 2 to get the first Tome Tactic. I’m not sure about the rest of them yet. I have 3 Bestial Tome unlocks so far, but I still don’t have the Bestial Tome Tactic yet so maybe it varies between skills.

My tome says that I have the first Manly Tactic unlocked; Manly Scheme. When I travel to Altdorf, and go to the library I am unable to find the NPC that I talk to to buy the Tactic.

I found this guide useful for finding the unlocks and everything, I just can’t find this NPC for the life of me. Anyway you could help me out with this?

The quest librarians for both factions are currently not in the game as there was an exploit found with it. The devs are currently making a patch to it, and hopefully they will be put back in soon.

Hi Rob, for destruction there is a quest line in the dark elf area that gives the same unlock. I have not been able to confirm or get more info on it yet so. Check out the forum link on the bottom of the post, and search for pinch to grow an inch.

@me – Barrel? You mean the one in Kadrin valley? its an object on the end of the broken bridge near the center of the zone. I’ll try to see if I can get exact coordinates, I just turned 29, and starting in that area shortly.

Hi NOway,
I can confirm that it drops, from those boneshard minions. It took me about 80 or 90 before I finally got it though. Its like a 4% drop rate, and I was really unlucky.

I got my Faded Scroll within the first 10 kills, so did my guildmate when we went back there. My second guildmate killed about 30-40 of them, and it never dropped for him. I was 13 or so, the guildie who got it was 25, the one who didn’t was 21.

Kill or talk to captains Flintbeard and Erginsson on the Ironclan in Barak Varr. May have to also interact with the first mate on the ship as well.”

As a Destruction player, I killed all three of them twice, and while I got a title for killing a Slayer, I did not unlock the Manly tactic. Anyone else have an idea for this?

For the manly tactic for destruction you have to kill slayer untill you get 20 slayer scalp. They will just apear in you bag you do not have to loot them. Then you got to take them to one of the rally masters i can nto remember what one.

Queek Reek:
The first stage of this has something to do with the Sewers in Altdorf (for Order obviously). A group of guildies and I went to Altdorf and did all the quests and all the sewers (as available at City Rank 1). Later I noticed Queek Reek was unlocked. So, to unlock it you either have to complete the quests for the sewers, or just complete one (probably the higher level one) of the sewer instances.

Hi Shrewd, I was trying to make a list that was as specific as possible with coords, and names so that people could go through it easily for specific tactics. It might be a spoiler for some tome hunters though.

np on the mention, when I first started putting the information together I was using wardb, wikis, and forum threads and it was taking forever to find/confirm it. After I found your thread it made it much faster for me to confirm it in game, and find out which tactic these unlocks went to.

Though this list has taken few hours/days to update/confirm new possible listings, you have tome tactics, titles, and trophies in that page. I’m afraid of how much time goes into the rest of it lol.

I found a new Undead Tome Unlock in Cinderfall.

Kill Wulgrig, a lvl 36 Zombie Dwarf @ 43.5k 2.5k He’s right behind his brother Scout Volgrig. Just go deeper into the cave and then to the left.. there are some stone coffins where I found him.

No, he spawns normally. I think he has less than a 5 minutes respawn timer, saw him again when I ran the same way back after I cleared the skeletons and the necromancer deeper in the cave.

@pownar – Wardb.com is the only one I know of so far. It shows you a map, with locations of mobs. I couldn’t find bloodythirsty daemons, closest one I could find was bloodthirsty pillagers.

@Malord – no I’m unaware of a 5% run speed tactic. There’s a few that are class specific like Witch elf, shaman, or white lion. Possible other ones too.

The Goremaw entry, and the Tarnolious the Lost entry you have in the Bestial section do not count towards the tome tactic fyi. They yield bestial tokens which you can use to buy trophies.

So the most recent listing over in the WHA forums for the manly tome tactics is the kill 1000 living armors. I don’t suppose anyone has confirmed this? I won’t be heading there anytime soon I think as I’d have to traverse through Destruction area.

If this one proves true then there is only 1 more partial unlock left to unlock manly meddling.

That is odd ivan, I know I’ve unlocked this one after killing 2 of them by that broken tower. Someone mentioned that the harpy might have to be pulled from the air first. Have you tried that? Also are you order or Destro?

Anyone have the confirm the last unlock for Manly Meddling? Killing 1000 Night Goblins. I’ve only encountered these in badlands near Mt Gunbad, and not all the goblins there are night goblins. The ones inside Mt Gunbad are champion level so a little harder to farm.

Seeing that the last (3rd) step for the Manly unlock would give 50% more I figured I might even tempt myself to farm 1000 goblins/living armor but if it is bugged like Naarek says then honestly what is the point? 1000 kills for t2-t4 mobs that aren’t even “Manly” for an XP boost that doesn’t work (even if it did it would only help for a very short time till 40), well I’ll be happy with 2nd tier of Manly.

I have completed “Manly Meddling” and yes it is bugged; however differently from what is stated. It is not modifying any experience. It’s not reducing it, but it’s also not increasing it. It is as though you do not have the tactic at all as I also do not see any change in aggro range.

@ Kurz – I’m order, and did this with a bright wizard friend. I know that you have to get the killing blow. I don’t think that there was any prereqs, but we both did pick up a sack that was lying near where he spawned before we killed him.

Anyone else have found more Daemonic Tome Tactics? In this forum ( http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169243&page=2 ) the person in the 2nd page posted 2 extra ones but of course, he doesnt say where he got those 2.

Though the names are there, the locations and what to do are kind of lost. I have tried killing many Plaguebearers in Troll Country but nothing special drops and not many are around there.

Any clues as to the other daemonic tome tactics?

1) 55k, 27k in Troll Country for “Finding Foul Flesh” for Daemonic Tome Tactic unlock in the Plaguebearer section in Daemons of Nurgle.

2) Lvl40 Hero just north of Ch22 Greenskin camp to unlock another Daemon Tome Tactic.

These two unlocks would be the 7th and 8th in the list for Daemonic Tactic.

In our ToK, only Chaos Spawn Daemonvine shows.

If there is a difference, where are them both located at?

I killed 1000 Chaos Spawn Daemonvine already thinking that it was counting for Daemonic Bloodvines (This was before Chaos Spawn Daemonvine was added to the list above).

I came across one the other day that was totally random. Sorry I don’t have specifics.

I went into gunbad to solo infl (as a 40). From zone entrance I went over the bridge to the left to where the big squigs were. I noticed that about every half an hour a lil mob came screaming through. I followed him and he literally disappears in like 15 seconds. As he runs by (pretty fast) he yells something at you. I waited and killed him. It started this:

Snotling: “Green Lightning”

Greenskin tactic 1/5 unlocks.

1) Fungal Fetish
2) Fungal Feast
3) Fungal Fever

This gives the unlock “Finger Lickign Good” (it’s spelled that way in the tome) for a bestial tactic fragment, not undead. Minor note: while they’re named ghouls and the unlock is in the ghoul section the kills count toward zombies.

I could not find the NPC for destruction in the chaotic tactic fragment “blackhorn besticor.” However, I found a level 27 hero named Casimir Por right next to that location in talabecland, at 54k 34k, that when you click on him it gives a chaotic tactic fragment.

As I used this site a lot doing my unlocks, heres a tidbitfor Benediction unlock. Charpter 5 order side has an easy PQ that is filled with Wights, there are also some Wraiths on stage 2 so order can grab some there, but its only 12 per clear unlike the Wights that are everywhere.

I wanted to note that I obtained the “Boon of Persistance” tomb tactic today. I can confirm that the bug has been fixed and it again gives 50% exp bonus rather than removing 50%. This was tested on level 36 elf mobs in Dragonwake near the warcamp.

As I used this site a lot doing my unlocks, heres a tidbitfor Benediction unlock. Charpter 5 order side has an easy PQ that is filled with Wights, there are also some Wraiths on stage 2 so order can grab some there, but its only 12 per clear unlike the Wights that are everywhere.Forex Programming
