Extreme World of Warcraft Powerleveling – Level 1- 60 In 20 Minutes

In the last month there’s been some buzz about the recent refer a friend feature in World of Warcraft. For those of you that haven’t heard about it yet. It has some new features that has makes leveling up to the end game pretty trivial, and one of those new features enabled someone to level up to 60 in 20 minutes or so.
Back about three years ago, leveling up to level 60 used to take quite a bit of time back when the game was first released. In fact one of the first things I used to put up Google Adwords ads for was, when I was getting into making money online, for World of Warcraft leveling guides. (Joana’s Horde leveling guide, and Brian Kopps alliance leveling guide). In fact back then it took people an in game /played time between 5-8days.
Now fast forward to present time, with someone posting a video of a character leveling up to 60 with a /played time under 5 minutes. How are they doing this? With Blizzard’s new refer a friend benefits of course.
Lets take a look at the video:
Now you’re probably wondering, how the hell they managed to pull that off. If you’re like me you might have stopped playing World of Warcraft a while back, and haven’t been keeping up on the ‘new features’. So here is some, in regards to the refer a friend program, that might catch your attention.
For each person you refer who upgrades to a retail version of World of Warcraft and purchases two months of game time, you will be able to give a character on the account you sent the invitation from an exclusive in-game zhevra mount. This unique mount can be claimed through the website, is only available to Recruit-A-Friend participants, and can only be applied to a single character.

Woo epic mount! Might not be as good as the $900 Alar phoenix mount, but still its something different. That is if you can call a striped horse with horse different.
1. Characters on both accounts can summon each other once per hour.
2. While adventuring with your linked friend/family member, you will each gain triple experience.
3. For every two levels the new player earns, the new player can grant one free level-up to a lower-level character played by the veteran player.
You catch that? Yup,TRIPLE EXPERIENCE when leveling while in the same party as a person you referred to the game. Not only is it regular experience, but from quest experience as well. They really are making the game easy now aren’t they? But no wait that’s not all, read that line number 3, which explains how the person in the video gained 59 levels in 20 minutes. Whats this? Not only can you level at three times normal rates, but when you do level up you can give up to 35 of those ‘hard earned’ levels away.
Don’t get me wrong though, Blizzard seems to have put in quite a bit of stipulations to try and make it harder to use those benefits. For example the triple experience only works if the linked players are in the same party, AND the same level. If you’ve played WoW you’ll know how hard it is to maintain the same levels as someone else. Especially if one dies, disconnects, or even goes away from keyboard to eat dinner. The guy in the video up top had referred two friends, both of which had to level up past level 60(required level to give away levels), then have those friends give those levels to him.
I don’t know about you guys, but leveling up was the fun part of the game. The part that bored me was the repetitive end game content. The only thing this ‘experience on crack’ feature is going to do is get people to the end game content where they’ll be bored, and quit. That’s my 2 coppers. What do you guys think?

You’ve got a few of the details fuzzy still.
1) Triple xp and the xp gifting only go up to 60
2) So you can only gift a maximum of 30 levels to another character
Of course, that’s still an amazing way to quickly bump up a low-level alt. And I love the new mount!
The level 60 cap for triple experience is true, I probably should have clarified it. But I don’t see where it says you can only gift 30 levels. The requirements are that the recruit needs to be over level 60, and the person receiving levels needs to be under level 60. So wouldn’t that be up to 35 levels if the level cap is currently 70?
I starting playing again, and have a level 54 warlock, and will level another Shaman. Great video by the way.

Oh no, your starting up again Zawadi? lol I’m kind of tempted to with the current lack of good MMOs out. Are you going to pick up the Wrath King expansion when it comes out in November?
Actually, you don’t have to be the exact same levels to get triple XP. You also have to be not only in the same party, but within close proximity to get the triple XP. You MAY also have to be on the same quests to benefit from triple xp, but I haven’t been able to confirm that yet.
Zrog, Perenolde Horde Side.
I seen that video somewhere else and thought it was from a private server but after reading your explanation I see it is totally possible.
So this means you could recruit yourself 3 times, build a shaman chain and level them together with triple XP then get a 4 character to level 60 in min’s.
And Blizzard don’t think this may attract some powerleveling services to abuse the system? Making it easier to level will only create more cowboy services offering ever cheaper levelling services.
I for one don’t think this is a good idea, especially giving away your levels to a character as low as level one. Maybe help people from 60-70 but not to get to lvl 60 in less than /5min played time.

i’m thinking of starting playing again. never heard of this before. but isn’t there some ethical issue behind this? is it fair to other players..

Actually, you can be any level to grant (you don’t have to be 60+) and you can grant it to any level, so long as it’s under your level, and you have enough levels of your own to grant(2 for each grant, by account).
Sorry if that’s…confusing?
Thanks for the clarification Xerati, so the veteran player only needs to be higher level than the other to grant extra levels(if available) if they are linked via refer a friend.
not the Vet. Mitch, the recruited. The new player, so your friend who you got to play the game levels up, and as he levels every two levels he can give 1 level to the Vet. as long as the Vet. is lower leveled than him. Basically, the original guy probably has a 70, so the recruited friend would give his “levels” to an alt of the Vet. meaning that the Vet only has to level his alt from 1 to 35, when his friend hits 70, just have him give you the other 35 levels.
Now I’ve gotten myself all sorts of confused Azmodon =P. But that makes more sense I guess. The vet would receive levels as his bonus for referring a new player to World of Warcraft. Again, thanks for another clarification on this for me, as I apparently need to go down a few more cups of coffee today.
Im not 100% sure I think this is ethical and in the spirit of the game?
I’m guessing you’ll flame me for thinking that though. :/

[...] comparison World of Warcraft numbers have actually gone up the last few weeks. Meaning those refer a friend promotions that Blizzard has been doing is bringing some people. Well sometimes 1 person with 36 World of [...]
Actually, to clear up some confusion here:
1. The friend can grant one level every 2 levels they gain
2. They grant these levels to the vets’ account
3. The friend needs to grant these levels before they hit 60, once they hit 60 the grantable levels are lost. So basically at level 59 the friend has about 30 grantable levels saved to give to an alt on the vets’ account.
4. They vet’s character receiving the levels needs to be lower in level that the friends character granting the levels
5. The triple xp also stops at level 60
I think part of the rationale behind these rules is so people don’t save all their granted levels to boost a Death Knight to 70 once the xpac hits.
Just thought I’d clear up some of the confusion about granting 35 levels at level 70 :/ would hate for people to lose all their grantable levels just, all of this can be verified at the Refer a Friend page on the main warcraft site.
so if ive got a 35 mage and my friend starts new… i have to stay with him to gain the levels? can i just go and carry on questing and still get the 3x xp?
Yea…I think that’s really sad when Blizzard allows this to happen. But hey, it’s their business. I for one found it more interesting, fustrating, shoot myself in the knee cap to level up! But, I love every minute of it. It’s nice to be able to game the system (for some) sort of speaking, sometimes…but I find no satisfaction in that.
Stumbled upon this while looking at stuff about linked accounts.
Here is a quick overview of why it exists guys.
If you play the game and have an 80 and your friend wants to play with you its not fun to level again with them in general. Also you have raids, etc.
this way when leveling together u have 3x xp to get them closer to you. When you raid or play your main char they can keep leveling (without 3x xp) and then grant your character levels to catch up when you play with them again.
Thats the rationale.
What about the missed quests though?
So if mt friend on the refer a friend account lvls 2 characters to 59 they can each grant one of my characters about 30 lvls, making him 59 like one of his characters?
Yes, but he can only level you to 58, can level somone to your level i think. and
1. you have to be within 2 levels to get 3x exp.
2. you have to be in party
3. you have to be on same quest to benifit, and have to turn in quest side by side.
4. you also gain 3x rep together i beleive.
i have lots of linked accounts its the best way to go.
OK I have done this and level up to 60 with my mage cousin,
1. You have to be within 4 levels to get 3x exp.
2. You have to be within 100 yards of each other to get 3x exp.
3. you can only get 3x exp, if you recruit another person and level with both people you do not get 6x exp but both accounts can still grant you levels as long as you are below their level
4.the recruit character get his first grant-able level at level 2.
5. if you want to play with a friend I strongly recommend this, it’s extremely fun watching people go “WTF?!” when you level 2 times in ZF and they haven’t leveled once. Also because you only gain 3x exp when within 100 yards of each other it encourages you to help each other so one person doesn’t just level up without you.
My cousin and I got to 60 in about 5-6 days but that was without trying to get to 60 ASAP we spent about 30 hours on professions and tons of time do completely pointless stuff like trying to get the achievement for falling 60 feet and surviving, we died a lot! With recruit a friend you kind of depend on each other which makes it way more fun, also being different to most players is also extremely fun.
can u recruit me plz
your lukey you get to do that beacause im only a lvl 55 and my gut is named roonranne and if you have a deathnight my guys name is ruins
