New Years Ball
Time Square Alliance

Happy News Years to all of you, and I wish you the best of luck for all your New Years Resolutions. Starting the New Years for most people means a fresh start. For me since I finally got off my procrastinating rear end, I’ll be starting the New Year with practically a clean slate for all my stats counters, Alexa rankings(currently 5 million haha), and Technorati(2 million).

Looking back at 2007, lets see what I’ve been able to do here.

My goal when I started up Money News on blogger I was using it as a fun way to keep track of my earnings online. Who knew blogging could be so much fun. After a few months of posting some articles, going on vacation, and then posting more articles I had finally broke the 100 visitor/day goal in December.

I finally broke the 100k mark in Technorati today which is nice, but also sad since none of it will really carry over to this blog which has an authority of 2 lol. Lately the Alexa rankings have been hovering around 120k range for the last week or so for the free blog. I’ve decided to keep the posts up at the free blog, along with a sticky post that says I moved to this domain. I did repost the blog posts over to this one, but I plan to spin the posts slightly enough to avoid the duplicate content penalty from Google. With some luck both blogs will have similar SERPs for the keywords I’m targeting on certain posts. I think its a better solution than deleting the blogger blog, or javascript redirecting it here.

This past few months I joined up with Blogcatalog, and I’m having a good time making some friends in there. Also thanks to Ender I’ve been invited into Cre8buzz. Its another network of sorts, and I’m still new there so still trying to figure out the ropes of it all. I liken it to something like a Myspace for bloggers network. I’ll do a review post of that coming up in the next few days as I figure out that site.

I also started building up my Stumbleupon network, and maxed out my friend list on their. I seem to be slowly building up a fan base, though most of it is targeted towards humor or interesting photos. Nonetheless it’ll be handy if I ever put up an interesting photo on my own blog to stumble. I also joined Digg, and get alot of friend requests on there. However if I ever request a shout out about something interesting I don’t see much of a response from those. I’ll have to work on that one a bit more I think. Mixx is turning out to be pretty fun to use, even without friends a post makes it to the front page easily. However it doesn’t bring as much traffic as Digg, but the readers are much more interactive.

If you guys want to add me to your social networks I’ve listed mine on my profile page over at Blogcatalog here.

That about wraps things up over here. Have a wonderful new years everyone. Remember to drive safe if you are going out tonight.

I suggest using Stumbleupon . My promotion through it has brought a good deal of traffic.
